Opportunity Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Executive Director Assistant Intern to support the Executive Director in managing day-to-day operations. This role is part of our Veteran Hiring Program, designed for military veterans transitioning to the civilian workforce. The selected candidate will provide essential administrative support, assist in coordinating team activities, and contribute to the efficiency of our operations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in nonprofit leadership, client outreach, and administrative functions.


Key Responsibilities:

Email and Communication Management: Monitor and manage the Executive Director’s email, ensuring prompt responses, prioritizing tasks, and flagging important communications.

Team Coordination: Assist with internal team coordination, scheduling meetings, and helping ensure smooth communication across departments.

Client Outreach: Support in outreach to current and potential clients, preparing outreach materials, and following up on inquiries.

Administrative Support: Organize and prepare meeting agendas, take meeting notes, and follow up on action items as needed.

SOP Creation and Maintenance: Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline team workflows.

Maintenance Call Assistance: Support in organizing and tracking maintenance requests, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.

General Office Support: Provide administrative support as needed to ensure the Executive Director and the wider team are productive and efficient.

Additional Duties: Assist in special projects or tasks that arise, supporting the Executive Director in any additional activities that help promote team productivity.


Skills and Qualifications:

● Currently transitioning from military service with an interest in nonprofit work, renewable energy, or project coordination.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with email management platforms.

● Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team.

● A passion for renewable energy, environmental justice, and community empowerment.


Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience in administrative or executive support roles.

● Familiarity with nonprofit operations and the energy sector.

● Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello) is a plus.
