Opportunity Description
Position Overview
This internship provides transitioning military professionals with an opportunity to
support space operations and ground systems development. The intern will work
alongside experienced engineers to contribute to satellite communication, data
processing, and ground systems integration. The role is designed to enhance technical
and collaborative skills in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Skills Required:
Basic understanding of system design and integration principles.
Familiarity with satellite operations or ground communication systems (preferred but not required).
Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Adaptability and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
System Support: Assist in the design, development, and integration of ground systems, including data processing and command/control systems.
Testing and Validation: Support testing activities to validate system functionality and reliability.
Mission Operations: Participate in mission support activities, such as data monitoring, reporting, and operational troubleshooting.
Data Handling: Contribute to managing the flow of data between satellites and ground systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with team members and stakeholders to meet mission objectives.
Compliance: Gain exposure to relevant standards and operational procedures within the space and defense industry.
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military training/experience in Systems Engineering, IT, or a related field.
Strong foundational skills in troubleshooting, systems maintenance, or operational procedures.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Active Secret clearance or eligibility for clearance (preferred: TS/SCI).
Preferred
Previous experience with space or ground system operations in a military or technical capacity.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and data management processes.
Understanding of DoD standards and operational frameworks.
