Opportunity Description
Duties and Responsibilities
• Installation of cable infrastructure (CAT5/E and CAT6).
• Dress and route cable into IT closets, modular furniture, and other work area outlets.
• Cable pathway installation (J-hooks, D-rings, cable trays, and ladder racks).
• Cable management (dressing, labeling).
• Cable termination (Jacks, Keystones, RJ-45/Modular Plug).
• WAP installation (Wireless Access Point)
• Read and follow blueprints set for installation.
• Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism with colleagues and
management.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA)
• Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting
cabling system issues
• Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures
• Be able to work in various environments including outdoors in varying degrees of
weather working at heights, and in small, confined spaces.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of commercial structured cabling, low voltage, or data cable installation
experience.
• Tools: Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose
and channel locks), cable stripper, punch down tool, flashlight, work boots (steel toe or
composite toe) gloves and tool pouch.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass drug and background screen
• BICIS preferred
• Manufacturer training preferred
• OSHA preferred
Physical demands:
• Physical Requirement: Must be able to work on a ladder and/or scissor lift. Work in confined spaces, can lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to work on your feet for entire shift.
